4 am Wake up Call

Postby bmcdermott » Wed Oct 24, 2012 5:11 am

We live on E 4th street between Market and Liberty and this morning at about 4am someone came and rang our doorbell. By the time I made it down stairs no one was there. I don't know if anyone else has had similar problems but I wanted to put it out there to be sure.

I just wanted to thank you for those cookies! Was that too early? Just kidding. I hope they don't come across the street I will have a heart attack.

Thanks again they were delicious and made us feel very welcome!
Best,

Do you happen to have a wireless doorbell? Reason I ask, we live on Pearl. Traffic isn't bad, but it's busier than most of our streets. That was happening to us sometimes, and it was driving me crazy. Then one day I was standing in the foyer when a car drove by and the doorbell went off. Somehow a device in the car or something set it off. Same frequency or something. I wasn't sure if that was a coincidence until it happened a 2nd time.

I'm no techie, so I could be wrong, but that's what I figured.

You are welcome for the cookies. Welcome to the neighborhood.

We do not have a wireless doorbell and our gate was open when I left in the morning. All signs are pointing to ding dong ditch.

We used to play the ding dong and run when we were kids in the 1950's. We'd ring the bell, then run hide in the bushes to watch them answer the door. We used to think it was harmless fun, but we didn't do it at 4 AM. I didn't know people still did that.

This happened to us a couple of months ago at 1 or 2 am. I looked out the window and the gate was closed, never saw a person. I wonder if a car driving off did it! It scared the crap out of me.
