National Night Out

Postby Chris Farley » Wed Sep 26, 2012 10:03 pm

Please come out to National Night Out, on Tuesday Oct, 2nd from 6pm until 8pm. We are going to have a soft closing of Liberty Street between 7th and 8th Streets. We may be a little late doing this, in order to get the Sheriff there, but we should certainly get Under Sheriff Cook. Please will you bring finger foods and sodas to share. Last year there were loads of tremendous foods, but it required plates and utensils, since we are late starting this year we ask for simple finger foods - easier to clear up afterwards.
Come meet our policemen and mingle with your neighbors.

Since this seems to be happening on my block, I can provide a table or two, even a trash receptacle. If you want me to.

Roadking that would be wonderful. How big are the tables, it would be lovely not to have to lug any

It looks like rain, if it does we are moving the National Night Out into 210 7th West,
Roadking thanks so much for the offer of tables, but the weather is too tricky so we decided to hold the Night Out at the club. We shall be fine for tables there. Sorry it could not be on your block, but after the weather at 6pm last evening and the threat of more - we are better inside.

Thank you so much to all the people who attended the National Night Out at the SIA club last night. It seems that it is better to hold the event under cover, sorry we could not inform people sooner of the change in venue. The food was wonderful and it was lovely to see all the children there, and many new residents of Springfield. Sheriff Rutherford and Michel Cook were both in attendance and the Sheriff spoke very warmly about Springfield, especially of the co-operation given by the residents. We are number one. Patsy had a beautiful cake made, which thanked the police and had a striking rendition of a police badge as decoration.
All in all a happy occasion.
