The Pearl is closing...

...at the end of the month. Perhaps moving to another location.

From their Facebook page:

Hello everyone! This month we are celebrating 7 wonderful years! We want to say thank you to each and every one of you, so come and visit us. You only have 4 more weekends. Make plans to come out on Thursday the 23rd to help celebrate our loyal leader Justin's birthday! Drop in and participate in the antics going on every other of the remaining nights we are open. The last weekend of the month will be one big party before we close our doors! We will be posting flyers keeping you up-to-date on upcoming events so that you won't miss a thing (so don't miss a thing)!
And remember, when one door closes another will surely open... ;D

Based on that last sentence, it sounds like they are going to open up elsewhere or someone else will be opening a new place there. Hopefully the latter. Sucks to lose such a popular business...

Anyone know WHY we are losing such a popular business? They certainly appear to be busy enough every weekend.

No clue. I do know the owner was very upset with how some neighbors handled the noise issues last year, but I doubt that would be the sole reason. With Park and King taking off and places downtown like Underbelly, TSI, Burro Bar, Dos Gatos, etc, they may just want to be closer to similar bars. Probably not as easy to compete on an island as it used to be.
