Springfield on the Times Union FRONT PAGE!

Postby justnchels » Sun Jul 22, 2012 10:20 am

I woke up this morning to a great article on the front page of the Florida Times Union about the growth of Springfield and its wonderful residents. If you don't get the paper, you can read the article here:

It's always great to say positive stories about our wonderful neighborhood!

We were told it would run last weekend, but hey - good things come to those who wait. :D

Great article! Now if the rest of Jacksonville would just move half as fast as Springfield.

Awesome that Springfield is getting press. I signed up for a T-U account and when it's approved I'm going to add a post praising Springfield... something along these lines:

Springfield offers a quality of life that I never expected my hubby and I would be able to afford right out of college. I have friends that live in Southside, but last month we moved in to an adorable 2 bedroom house on Laura Street in Springfield, and for half of what my friends' rent in a Southside apartment is, we are renting a beautiful, private, 100-year old home with a fenced-in yard, garage, fireplace, high ceilings, hardwood floors... It's so much more than we imagined we'd be able to afford. Also, all that talk about the wonderful neighbors is true. Everyone here is so friendly and I feel so lucky to already know (and like!) so many of my neighbors! Nevermind the fact that the houses here are GORGEOUS, and that there's a dog park, coffee shop, and delicious food all within walking distance... what more could you want?!

For us, Springfield is a dream come true, and we cannot wait for the opportunity to buy a house in the neighborhood!

This article was going to just be a regular story but the editors liked it and so the delay was to get it on the front page. Hard to complain about that!
